Far too often, a homeowner will call us and say, “I need help with a project, but I think it might be too small for you.”
The fact is, we enjoy working on projects of all sizes.
While we often share photos of larger whole house remodels and custom home builds, they don’t represent the full range of work we do. Some of our favorite projects are the smaller ones that improve daily living, resolve safety concerns, fix long-standing frustrations, or just make the home feel better.
It’s important to note that small doesn’t always mean simple. Smaller projects still benefit from forward planning, smooth coordination, and experienced trades. And we’re firm believers that smaller projects deserve great design too.
Check out a sampling of the small-scale remodeling projects our design-build team has tackled in the Fort Collins area.
Front Entry Update
(Before) The original front door and side gate lacked character, and the solid French doors made the interior foyer dark and uninviting. (After) The new French doors and side gate — fabricated with matching custom metalwork — elevate the front entry’s appeal. And because the new front doors have frosted glass, the interior foyer is now flooded with natural light.

Fresh Tile Backsplash
(Before) Our clients had grown tired of their kitchen backsplash tile, and their range hood felt bulky overhead. (After) Fresh tiles on the backsplash infuse the kitchen with vibrant energy, and a new hidden ventilation system gives the cook more room to breathe at the stovetop.

New Fireplace and Media Console
(Before) The original fireplace felt dated, and its hearth served as a makeshift TV stand, exposing unsightly cables. The set up also made it impossible to enjoy a movie and a fire at the same time. (After) The new ledgestone fireplace and media console create a modern accent wall that is both stunning and functional. Even better, the homeowners can now snuggle up by a cozy fire as they stream their favorite show.

Built-In Barbeque
(Before) Our clients wanted to maximize the limited space of their 180-s.f. slab patio. (After) Contained within the new stone half-wall is an outdoor lounge, dining area, and built-in grilling station complete with an overhead hood to vent smoke. A ceiling fan and retractable sunshade provide additional comfort.

Home Office Renovation
(Before) This home office lacked storage and felt more like a guest bedroom than a dedicated workspace. (After) To create the ideal office, we replaced and added windows, modified the entry, replaced carpet with hardwood flooring, and installed a full wall of built-in bookshelves and cabinetry.
Simple Cosmetic Refresh
(Before) Our clients loved their home built in 2006, but were eager for some cosmetic updates. (After) By adding new hardwood flooring, a box mantel and floating shelves, and some fresh paint and wallpaper, our team brought the living room to life.

Powder Bathroom Remodel
(Before) This powder bathroom was a narrow, dark cave of busy wallpaper and slate that didn’t reflect our clients’ modern style. (After) Once we removed the wallpaper and replaced the flooring, we installed a stone accent wall, pendant lighting, concrete sink, a wall faucet mounted into the backlit mirror, and an Asian-inspired pocket door — all to create a bold new look.

Repurposed Dining Room
(Before) Our clients wanted to transform the formal dining room they rarely used into a sitting room that encourages reading. (After) Built-in bookshelves define the room’s purpose and deliberately separate it from the busy kitchen. By removing the cased wall openings, the room feels more open and inviting.
Wider, Safer Stairs
(Before) The original stairs were steep and narrow, and the beam at the top was a notorious forehead cracker. (During) We widened the stairs by eight inches and found a structural solution to remove the troublesome beam. (After) The new railings tie into the updated black-and-white design palette of this Old Town Fort Collins home.
