Welcome back to another “Inspiring Transformations” blog post—the series where we spotlight before-and-after photos that show the power of a good remodel. This month, we’re featuring one of the most valuable yet underrated spaces in any house: the GARAGE.
Check out eight of our favorite Loveland and Fort Collins garage remodels in the B&A slider gallery below.
Garage Remodels and Additions
(Before) Without a garage, Sharon had to park on the street in Old Town Fort Collins, exposing her car to harsh weather and potential vandalism. (After) We designed and built a new garage, attached by a small breezeway, that looks original to the house. Read how our team made it happen, and see the interior in “Old Town Farmhouse Remodel.”
(Before) Jeff and Ally needed a larger, deeper garage that could fit their two cars, but they weren’t sure it was possible without making major changes to their home. (After) By slightly bumping out the length and width of the space, our team converted it from a one-car to a two-car garage. We also installed another window for added curb appeal and natural light. Explore the full scope of this Fort Collins renovation in “1960s Ranch Remodel.”
(Before) Our client was bored by his boxy detached garage on an alley in Old Town Fort Collins. He wanted a one-of-a-kind garage with whimsical details. (After) The result is a modern take on a storybook cottage with loads of character. Check out the garage details, and peek inside the renovated home, in “Eclectic Remodel in Old Town.”
(Before) Our clients wanted more storage space, including a drive-through garage big enough for a truck hitched to a boat. (After) New garage additions on both ends of the home provide ample space for vehicles, including a convenient pull-through design ideal for hauling a boat between the lake and indoor storage. View this extensive Loveland remodel in “Grand Waterfront Retreat: Part 6, FINAL REVEAL.”
(Before) This small cottage on a tiny lot in Old Town Fort Collins had a parking pad, but no garage. (After) The new style-appropriate garage is a welcome addition to this turn-of-the-century home. See the full renovation, which includes adding more living space, in “Garage, Laundry and Master Suite Addition.”
(Before) Mari and Kelly wanted to pop the top of their home to create more room for their young family. (After) The renovation was a great time to also bump out the garage, expanding it from two car bays to three. The Tesla solar roof system—solar shingles that produce clean energy for their home—was icing on the cake. Explore the full Fort Collins home remodel in “Second Story Pop Top: Part 8, Final Reveal.”
(Before) This home on Horseshoe Lake in north Loveland lacked garage space for the owners’ boat. (After rendering) We installed a long concrete drive to connect a private boat ramp on the lake to the oversized 1,748-s.f. multi-purpose garage. The new rear garage bay provides dedicated boat storage, making both winterizing and summer lake access a breeze. Since this is a new build and not a remodel, there aren’t any before-and-after photos to share. But no garage roundup would be complete without one of our most popular projects to date: The Bunkhouse—a custom two-bedroom, two-bath guest apartment and vacation rental east of Loveland. See inside this dream garage, and its upstairs guest house, in “Garage Apartment Adds Value, Extra Space.”
