When our clients moved to be closer to their children and grandkids, they wanted to turn their basement into a family gathering space—with a twist. This Fort Collins basement was transformed into a one-of-a-kind family gathering space with vintage flair and a hidden surprise. The redesigned layout includes a welcoming rec room with a pool table, shuffleboard, and wet bar—anchored by brick and tin ceiling accents that nod to the past. A cozy guest bedroom and secret kids’ playroom add comfort and fun for all ages. But the real showstopper—tucked behind an arched door—is the custom speakeasy: a hidden whiskey cellar and tasting room showcasing an impressive collection of rare whiskeys from around the world. With exposed beams, stained concrete floors, and moody lighting, the space evokes the spirit of Prohibition-era hideaways. With its blend of personality, history, and hospitality, this remodeled basement offers a unique space where the family can relax, play, and connect.
