Lise and Manfred love their home of twenty years in Fort Collins, but they were ready for a change—especially in the master bathroom.
The finishes felt dated, and it was hard to enjoy a shower when the original stall was incredibly cramped and showing its age. “We wanted a larger walk-in shower,” Lise says, naming the top item on their wish list. The couple also craved a sleek and fresh design that felt clean and inviting.
They were eager to replace their awkward corner bathtub with a modern, freestanding soaker. “We were also ready for a change in the tiling, cabinets, countertops, and the overall décor,” Lise adds.
Thrilled with an earlier kitchen renovation by HighCraft, Lise and Manfred wanted to work with HighCraft again for their bathroom remodel. “We were very happy with their craftsmanship, their professionalism, and the overall management of the project,” Manfred says of the HighCraft kitchen remodel. “In particular, the promised end date was a feature that we didn’t get from other contractors.” The couple also appreciated the ease of working with HighCraft’s design department on both projects.

For their master bathroom remodel, Lise and Manfred requested: a roomy shower with a clear, frameless glass enclosure; modern looking fixtures in brushed nickel; a built-in shower bench; and the simplicity and clean lines of European design.

“For the cabinets, we wanted a lighter wood that would complement the brushed nickel ladder pulls,” Lise says. The natural tones of the vanity and floating shelves add interest and depth to the finished space.

Lise and Manfred also wanted their new bathroom to be highly functional with a modern, inviting look. The palette of cool grays and warm woods creates a satisfying balance of color, and an understated elegance in this Fort Collins bathroom remodel.

The freestanding tub—easily filled, and used often—is a calm and beckoning structural focal point.

“The shower is likely our favorite thing,” Manfred says, “but basically everything turned out the way we imagined it.”

The couple appreciates their new alder cabinetry and shelves, as well as the durable yet beautiful quartz countertop, backsplash and shower bench. Lise says that asking to identify a favorite thing about the updated space “is a little bit like asking ‘Who is your favorite child?’ We love both of our children equally and we just like everything in the new bathroom.”
When asked what it was like to work through the bathroom design and construction process with the team at HighCraft, Lise says, “It was easy and uncomplicated. The employees at HighCraft—from the initial development of an estimate, the design service, and then the actual work and execution—are all very professional, easy to communicate with, and very responsive to any questions or concerns. They don’t give you any headaches and they get the job done. And not just done, but done with outstanding quality and craftsmanship.”
“We also like very much that HighCraft gives a five-year warranty on their workmanship,” Manfred adds, “and we know that they honor this warranty without any questions asked.”
