Master Bathroom Remodel: from Warm Beige to Cool Waves

Today we reveal a master bathroom transformation in south Fort Collins.

(BEFORE) When our clients Andy and Sharon bought their home in 2015, the master bathroom (above) had been remodeled by the previous owner back in 2010.

(BEFORE) Large beige tiles were used for the floor, the fireplace surround, the jetted tub decking, and even the countertops and backsplashes.

(BEFORE) More beige tiles in different shades covered every inch of the shower, including the ceiling, making the space feel cave-like. Andy and Sharon were ready for a change.

(AFTER) The newly remodeled bathroom now has contrast, which creates interest.

The flooring is 12-inch by 24-inch glazed porcelain tile. Designed in Italy, and inspired by real vein-cut stones, the tile complements the design’s new color palette.

The soothing waves of these 13-inch by 40-inch glazed ceramic tiles bring a new level of sophistication to the accent walls near the shower (above) and free-standing tub (below).

The gas fireplace (above) has a new ledgestone surround, and stone mantel, for added texture.

And we replaced the older gas fireplace with a see-through model from Heat & Glo.

The new cabinetry is made from alder wood with a black walnut stain, and oil-rubbed bronze hardware.

The new, clean countertops and backsplashes are a stunning quartz by Cambria.

We replaced the dated vessel basins (left) with more elegant undermount sinks (right), and made sure both basins were positioned below a mirror.

After removing the old jetted tub (left), the new bathroom feels larger (right).

In the shower, we replaced glass block (left) with watertight vinyl windows (right). Although the replacement windows are smaller, the new tile reflects more natural light, making the shower brighter. The resulting remodel in cool grays, and modern waves, is a breath of fresh air.
