Rick Douglas

Rick built post and beam cedar homes, and owned and operated his own construction and carpentry business for 23 years, before joining HighCraft Builders in 2023.

As a member of HighCraft’s in-house team, Rick works on remodels and custom homes from start to finish, which gives him great satisfaction as a carpenter. He also appreciates being part of a design-build company with a known reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.

With a strong background in interior trim work, Rick’s responsibilities as a lead carpenter involve hanging doors and cabinets, and installing base and case trim – all with exacting precision. He puts the finishing touches on HighCraft projects, and is never happy until everyone is happy with his work.

“What I appreciate most about HighCraft is its dedication to customers, attention to detail, and the willingness of everyone to help each other out. It’s incredible working with this dynamic team.” – Rick

LIKES: Cooking. The Detroit Lions, Tigers and Redwings. Hanging out with his wife and two great boys. Getting up in the mountains, whether it’s camping or 4-wheeling, to enjoy this great state we live in. Good workmanship and a good attitude.

DISLIKES: A messy job site. People who don’t do their job, or do it incorrectly. Tooting his own horn.

More than meets the eye:
Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Rick can trace his love of carpentry back to his first woodshop class in 7th grade. It inspired him to build benches, stereo cabinets and other furniture, and he’s been addicted to woodworking ever since.
