Scotty McDermid

Scotty has nearly a dozen years of carpentry experience building high-end custom homes.

His appreciation for woodworking began as a child in northern Minnesota watching his dad repair their family home with his own two hands. Today, that same dedication to craftsmanship and a job well done is reflected in every project Scotty touches.

As a lead carpenter for HighCraft Builders, Scotty is our go-to guy for hanging cabinets, setting doors, installing casing and custom metalwork, and anything else that requires the finest trim application. He has an exceptional eye for detail and his commitment to quality is impeccable.

“HighCraft is a team of warm, genuine, outstanding people who take pride in what they do. I’m excited to be part of such a caring team and to work on such amazing, beautiful houses.” – Scotty

LIKES: Photography, horror movies, and going on adventures with his daughter. Summers at the family cabin in Minnesota. Exploring new roads on his motorcycle.

DISLIKES: Clutter. Onions. A disorganized workspace, especially on a job site.

More than meets the eye:
Scotty was born and raised in the Iron Range of northern Minnesota, west of Lake Superior and about two hours south of the Canadian border. After playing electric bass in a rock band for 10 years, Scotty pursued his love of carpentry to provide a stable future for himself and his baby girl. More than ten years later, he made the cross-country move to Colorado to live near his amazing daughter.
