Our entire crew and their families recently gathered to honor general manager Scott Fetters, and celebrate his remarkable 25-year anniversary with HighCraft Builders.

SCOTT’S PATH TO LEADERSHIP

“When people think of HighCraft, they often think of Scott,” says founder and owner Dwight Sailer. “He’s been with HighCraft almost as long as we’ve been in business. Scott is part of the bedrock of our company.”

Scott’s construction career began in 1993 as a carpenter in Loveland, where he established a reputation for being true to his word, and always getting it right for the client. Dwight remembers the day he hired Scott in 2000. “One of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life.”

Today, Scott is the General Manager of Architecture and Operations at HighCraft. As a GM, he supervises all estimating, ensures each design is buildable, and overseas the team of project managers responsible for keeping construction on track at every jobsite. He also serves on HighCraft’s six-member leadership team.

“Scott’s knowledge base and experience in construction are second to none,” says Kira Koldeway, General Manager of Design and Business Development, and Scott’s counterpart on the leadership team. “We’re hard pressed to find something that stumps him. When our team is presented with a challenge, Scott is the one we turn to for the solution.”

“Scott is a strong presence in leadership team meetings, but he truly shines in the field. He’s in his element when he’s on the jobsite,” Dwight says. “To this day, there’s not a single HighCraft project where Scott doesn’t show up to help out his team, even on the weekends,” Dwight adds. “He’s always there for his team, and for the clients, over and over and over again.”

SCOTT’S GIVING NATURE

In addition to giving 110% to his team, subcontractors and clients, Scott is known for going above and beyond to help neighbors in need. In typical Scott fashion, he downplays his level of community involvement. But Scott is often first to roll up his sleeves to pitch in, whether it’s donating blood, serving meals to the hungry, or delivering a generator to homeowners who lost power during a snowstorm.

Glen Haven, Colorado, holds a special place in Scott’s heart. Over the years, he’s helped with disaster mitigation and recovery efforts in the small mountain community.

“Scott is always the first one to volunteer when someone is in need of a helping hand,” says Kira.

Amid the threat of fire to the community, Scott joined Big Thompson Watershed Coalition’s efforts to remove ladder fuel along nearly three miles of community roadways. The reduced vegetation also improves passage for emergency responders.

And after hearing about the tragic loss of Assistant Fire Chief John Jaros, Scott and members of HighCraft’s production team completed much-needed repairs and renovations to the Glen Haven Volunteer Fire Department’s Fire Station 2.

“That’s Scott,” Dwight says. “He used his personal time to help frame that firehouse in Glen Haven, and finish what the assistant fire chief started.”

SENTIMENTS FROM THE TEAM

HighCraft production manager, D Walker, has worked with Scott for 23 years. When Scott’s 25-year anniversary was announced, D said to Scott, “Brother, I’m so proud to have been with you for so many of these years. You have been an example of dedication … and have shown me that teamwork and building relationships are what build a strong and lasting company.”

In 2023, when HighCraft celebrated 25 years in business, Scott said, “HighCraft has stood the test of time because we are laser focused on taking care of our clients, delivering the highest quality workmanship in Northern Colorado, and following through on our promises.”

We couldn’t agree more. HighCraft has stood the test of time, due in large part to the daily efforts of Scott Fetters. Dwight insists, “Scott is a big reason why HighCraft has enjoyed such a strong business reputation for 25 years. His personal and professional integrity, his commitment to excellence, and his steady leadership, have profoundly influenced our company’s culture and success.”

Dwight thanks Scott for 25 years

“Scott, you are the best in the business and a true inspiration,” Dwight says. “For 25 years, you’ve been more than just part of the team. You are family, you are excellence, you are leadership by example. You … are … HighCraft. Thank you for an incredible quarter century of pure dedication.”
