Family Farmhouse Remodel

This farmhouse has been in the hard-working Feit family for four generations, and the plan is to keep it that way for years to come. Great-granddaughter Evin and her wife Erin worked with HighCraft to create an open floorplan that increased natural light, and separated the living and sleeping areas, yet preserved the original bones and character of the circa 1900 home. A new covered porch and entry now open into a remodeled mudroom designed to capture messy boots, wet jackets and dirty laundry. The kitchen’s white apron sink, boxcar butcher block countertop on the island, eclectic light fixtures and variable-width plank flooring, create a modern farmhouse kitchen. The cozy reading nook off the living room, and a new 270-s.f. master suite addition, offer private retreats within the new open-concept design.
