Julia graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Interior Architecture and Design with a minor in Global Environmental Sustainability.
As a design assistant for HighCraft Builders, Julia works closely with our in-house team of interior designers and architects to support the planning phase of each project. On the interior design side, she helps clients make selections, she sources samples, and completes all necessary prep work to hand each project off to production with confidence.
With her background in residential and commercial design, Julia is involved with interior space planning, and creating interior elevation drawings to help clients visualize their finished project. She also adds material selections to final construction documents, a critical step that ensures clear communication between design and production.
“I am inspired to work for a company that has a streamlined and organized process, but more than that, a company that operates from its values.” – Julia
LIKES: Hand-written notes, spaghetti loaded with Kraft parmesan cheese, and posting her digital drawings on Instagram. Road biking and training for a marathon. Ticking off checklist items with an extra-fine point Sharpie marker.
DISLIKES: Squirrels, sticky fingers, last-minute plans, and sliding closet doors that are left partially open.
More than meets the eye:
Julia was born and raised in Fort Collins, but she’s been thinking and working globally for years. As a student at Colorado State, her senior capstone project was the redesign of an Indonesian slum into an affordable mixed-use commercial and residential community. After CSU, she collaborated on several residential and commercial designs in her life’s pursuit to use design as a tool of connection, empathy and empowerment.
