Back in December HighCraft teamed up with the great people at bigcountry979.com to give one lucky family in Northern Colorado the chance to receive a home remodel worth $10,000. Mother and daughter Gina and Cassandra were the lucky recipients. “With the help of some of our very generous trade partners, this project turned into a $25,000 remodel giveaway,” said Dwight Sailer, HighCraft co-owner. “The response from our team was overwhelming. Everyone was so excited to help with material donations and volunteering their time. All Seasons Heating and Air jumped in and provided the family with a brand new furnace, Ferguson Enterprises donated new plumbing fixtures for the kitchen and bathrooms, Schilling Interiors provided and installed new tile and Castorena Marble and Granite installed new granite countertops”. These are only a few of the trades that helped make this project a success. In addition to the kitchen and the new furnace, the project also included remodeling two bathrooms and a laundry room.

Scott and Sadie,
The house that built me didn’t get to work on my foundation until I was 9 years old. Prior to that I moved around from apartment to apartment with a mother who was schizophrenic and a missing father. I didn’t even have a house which I always desperately wanted. I took care of my two younger
sisters and prayed to God every day for help. God finally brought me to the house that would build me into the person I am today and a real Mother. I had been to a couple foster homes when I was younger, previous to landing in my forever home. When I walked into that house I knew I would never want to leave. My Mom now gave me the biggest hug and I was finally safe. Previous to meeting her I was lost and heading down a horrible path. Hard to believe, but at 9 I was already looking at drugs, smoking cigarettes, and trying alchohol. My Mom showed me the path and with the help of her and God, by highschool I became a fairly normal girl with all kinds of hope for the future. I am now a happy adult, working fulltime in a career I enjoy, and going to school part time, all because of her and my “forever home”. As I said when I walked into that home I knew I would never want to leave, this home was safe and so nurturing, and luckily I never did have to leave. I am so blessed and thankful for the Mother and the home God led me to, and my mom has given me so much. If she was able to update her home, that by the way still houses many foster kids so lovingly, she would be so grateful and maybe get back a little of what she and that house has given to so many!!!!! Thanks for the consideration, and by the way you two make my morning every day!
Cassandra
